Sore throat for nearly 3 weeks

Hey all. I'm.back again. sadly :(
Have anyone had sore throat for 3 weeks or longer ?? I've been seen by what I thought was a doctor but it was a paramedic (grrr) he told.me I had a fever and bluster like pockets at back.of my throat. A virus that can take 5 weeks to clear.
I've got no runny nose. No mucus or cough nothing. Just am extremely sore throat.
    I'm getting worried now. :(

I would go to your GP and get tested for strep throat. The last time I had strep it was like this - just a persistent sore throat, but no other symptoms.

Sparky that sounds exactly what I have.
I told him I had no coughing, no blocked or stuffy nose but a persistent throat that won't clear up and he just said I had blistered throat and a fever. Just a virus and it will clear up. Getting concerned now I'm on week 3 with no improvement.
Thank you I'm going to ring out of hours now as it's a Saturday and all surgeries are closed. arghh

This really isn't something worth bothering out of hours for. I've had sore throats last that long before and they faded off eventually.

Really ankietyjoe?? Was that of a diagnosed virus too? I thought it was all in my head with my health problems of health anxiety but I thought there's no way it could have been with me unable to forget about it at all. So when checked out my throat was infact swollen. I've never in my life had a sore throat for longer than 10 days maximum.
Especially with no other virus symptoms.
Will see what doctor says tomorrow.

There is so much stuff going around now with this crazy winter weather. I would take pain killers and increase your water intake. You’ll be okay, viruses can last awhile.
