IBS , Bug or pancreatitis?

Writing this for my mum as she’s quite worried.
She has a hiatus hernia and has been suffering many acid problems eith her stomach and they are not sure if it’s the hernia but they are doing a scan to look at her pancreas soon.
That last few days she has had intense abdominal pain with loose stools and said to me the week before she had been constipated.
She isn’t sure if it’s a bug I said it sounds like ibs because she had no nausea or vomiting but she’s worried it’s her pancreases. The doctor has said he thinks she may have a type of ibs because her belly feels tender all over.
I don’t think it sounds like a bug because online it says you would get fever and usually vomiting but she didn’t have that however the pain was so intense she was doubled over and did not go away when she went to the toilet but also the stools weren’t like extreme she said only slightly loose.
She still has some pain now so she’s worried it’s her her pancreas but I don’t think it is.
Just wondering if this sounds like ibs to anyone else or a bug?

It's good your Mum is being seen by a doctor and getting the tests she needs. From my experience this is exactly how my ibs presents. Pain can be excruciating. Buscopan helps a lot. Hopefully that's all it is and I now know the foods that set mine off so I avoid them or sometimes give in to temptation and suffer the consequences ! Hope your Mum will be ok.
