That’s not easy, especially when one or two of you seem to prefer the alarming stuff.
Yes thank you Gary I appreciate your efforts, you're a good bloke.

A data analysis expert telling us exactly what I’ve been trying to say for some time now.

According to this the true mortality rate is 0.3% in the UK, much less than is inflicted by seasonal influenza.

These are the types of numbers that everyone on this board should focus on, rather than the warped figures constantly ingrained into us by our media.

Toby for your own sake, stop clicking on these headlines and for our sake do not post them here.

    Thanks

    Um, why?

    Did you read those headlines?

    They're NOT COVID-19 deaths.

They're reports of (young & healthy) deaths from the seasonal flu, proving that the danger of healthy young people dying from infectious disease has ALWAYS been there

    Sorry for trying to help.

I’m glad I caught that before it was deleted Toby. Thank you for your efforts. Like you said, it proves young and healthy people can die from flu too. Except we don’t really think about this. I totally get what you are doing/saying.

    Re: Coronavirus worries?

We, young people, don't sit around worrying about dying of the flu every winter, do we?

So why should we be doing it now? (Still stay home of course, though!)

I know I'll eat my words in the future when I see the next COVID-19 "Young death" headline, but always remember that fit, healthy young people die from the flu each year

Toby, please accept my sincere apologies.

I am a bit strung out about everything and assumed the worst.

Your post has been undeleled and thank you for posting it.

    Again my apologies.
