    Any fellow ulcerative colitis sufferers?

Hi all I'm a 48 year man , I was diagnosed with UC two years ago , I've been on numerous treatments which have only worked for a little bit. Now my medical team have decided to put on humira which I inject at home I'm also on azathioprine 100mg and asacol 6 a day as well as 30mg of pred. All of which are immune suppression drugs. I'm really concerned about all this medication and picking up something, especially this new virus coming out of China. Anyone with any experience of this medication or UC , I'd love to hear from you .

    Thanks

I have Crohns and UC and I am on mercaptopurine which reduces my immune system as well.

Have you had any issues with your medication? Has it helped?

I was on azathioprine once but it made me physically sick so they had to stop it.

I am fine on mercaptopurine though and yes it keeps the Crohn's under control.

It really messed with my liver at the beginning, but it's within range now. It's horrible being on these drugs, but anyone with ibd knows the alternative.

The humira is helping I think. I currently have cringe my stomach so the symptoms are different than lower GI Crohn's (I had my colon and rectum removed 2.5 years ago and have permanent ileostomy)
