Could you not just take it one step at a time and see what the GP says rather than thinking/ "researching" so far ahead and coming up with the usual worst case scenario?
It could well be just routine treatment.

Just thought I'd give an update on the nodes, in case anybody is interested - it's been about 4 months since I first noticed the nodes and they're now definitely a lot smaller. The one on the side of my neck is quite hard to find now, and the submandibular one is smaller too although it still sticks out a bit.
Proof to all that benign nodes can take a long time to go down.
Toxoplasmosis isn't great, of course, but at least it's not lymphoma!
My (probably) final update on the nodes.
I'd say they're pretty much back to normal size now. It took four months for them to go away.
So, there we have it, four-month, unilateral, non-tender lymphadenopathy, one node of which looked suspicious on ultrasound, and it wasn't lymphoma or any sort of cancer.
