Would you recommend coming off Citalopram?

Only been on them 3 months and i feel great on them the doctor has dropped next months dosage to 10mg and then itl be 5mg is this to early?>

I was told by a therapist it takes 2 years to fully correct the broken bits that the meds are helping.

But depends on why you were prescribed them initially. For me - I needed lots longer but I was a wobbly mess.

If you really want to come off them please do it very very slowly.

I was told by my gp that you should stay on them for at least 6 months.

I came off them at 6 months but had to go on them again after a few months becasue alll my symtoms came back. My doctor told me I wasnt ready to come off them.

If you feel your ready then like samc100 said do slowly.

Twice i tried to come off too quickly and ended up going straight back on them.

il see how i get on after i drop down to 10mg next month i must admit ive become a much calmer person on them i just hope it stays like that x
