Fear of blood pressure machine & EKG

I have an at home blood pressure machine. When I'm at home my blood pressure and pulse is fine. When I go to the doctor, my pulse has gone up to 166bpm one time. Last time I had an EKG my pulse was 136 bpm . The doctor said it was fast but normal ekg. Does this happen to anyone else and if so, did you overcome it and how

Yes it is white coat syndrome.

I take my own readings to the doctor so she knows what is normal for me as opposed to the high readings she would get.
