    Two week breast referral delayed

    Hi guys
With everything that’s going on it seems somehow wrong to get pulled into my own silly selfish HA, but yet... here I am...... and reaching out to you lovely people for support.
Recently I found what felt like a long firm cord within my breast, about 6cm long and maybe 3mm wide, almost like a non compressible vein. I have never felt it before, although since I have recently lost about 6kg in weight (on purpose!) it’s possible it has been there for a while. Anyway, I went to the GP, who said it didn’t feel like cancer but since she didn’t know what it was she referred me. But because lots of NHS staff are now on the coronavirus front line it keeps getting delayed. I completely understand this of course, but I’m finding it hard to keep my worry under control.
I have had a mammogram and ultrasound 8 weeks ago (just an annual screening thing, that I pay for myself), which showed nothing, so I’m trying to comfort myself with this while I wait!
thank you so much for taking the time to read this xxx

    Hello Jojo

You had a mammogram and ultrasound 8 weeks ago which both showed no abnormalities. You've also lost weight-presumably affecting your breast size? You will probably be able to feel things which may not have been obvious before you lost weight?

Personally I would be relieved to have had a clear mammo and ultrasound ONLY 8 weeks ago. I'm not sure what else could be offered at a breast clinic? They wouldn't want to expose you to more radiation after such a short space of time xx
