You're very kind Pulisa, but it's a sad truth.

Hopefully. You're absolutely right about them decreasing measures far too early. Another example of profit first. I couldn't believe how fast the one way systems disappeared and they cost little.

At my local Tesco most of the floor staff are wearing masks for the first time this year. They are catching on...

On the subject of the protests I think the police should get one of those t-shirt cannons, fill it with masks and fire them into the crowd. Form an orderly queue behind the gunsight, officers

The fire brigade should lend a hand too. Fill the pump wagon with disinfectant and warm water then let rip on the crowd

Sadly, where I live has recorded three new cases - the first in over three months :(

I'm having a quiet shilling on a two-week lockdown during half term. It's now got an imbecilic three-word slogan after all.
Not another one?! 'Get Covid Gone' on a boxing glove? 'Cobblers to Coronavirus' on the side of a bus?

Glad to hear you are getting back to work. I bet you right just typical as the numbers are going up and lockdowns are being discussed?!

"Circuit Break Lockdown" - which jars on my ears as you have "circuit breakers", but no-one speaks of a "circuit break" - EVER.

It has not gone unnoticed by both myself and friends that I'm returning to work just as it all turns to shit again.

    Oh well.

They can't even get the slogan grammatically correct...How has this bypassed Dominic Cummings?

Glad that the scientists are addressing the nation today.

It'll be interesting to hear what they have to say, although I suspect I know it.

At least the message is a lot clearer from them and there's no nonsense. No questions either. I always prefer facts and not waffle.

Let's hope that Boris keeps this consistency in his message to the nation and there's clarity and no room for manoeuvre.

    Re: Covid-19 discussion thread

Whatever new restrictions are to come into place over the coming days/weeks, I really hope we don't have a repeat of the hysterical panic-buying of toilet rolls and other items like back in the early spring of this year.

I'm still convinced there were no real shortages of anything back then, it was some silly person in Australia who posted on YouTube/social media exploiting the situation probably in pursuit of his/her 15 minutes of fame, and it suddenly escalated into a viral (no pun intended) craze worldwide.

All over an issue that was virtually non-existent, that became a kind of self- fullfilling prophecy in itself.

Hopefully the marshals and special queuing systems being reinstated in places like Morrisons, etc, might deter any possible panic-buying and of course, encourage customers to act more responsibly and to social distance properly.
