Thread: Covid-19 discussion thread

Really struggling with anxiety today, I think it's triggered by the fact I appear to have a cold.. lateral flow is negative and no covid symptoms anyway, but there's something about being ill that just makes you more anxious anyway. Struggling today :(

Oh, I know that feeling. I developed a cold a few weeks back and thought the worst, despite numerous LFTs and a PCR (when my sense of smell disappeared for a day) and yes, anxiety does get worse when we're ill as many will attest.

It's getting colder this next few days: I call that a good excuse for staying in bed/on the sofa, if it's at all possible.

    It will pass

I'm booked for my Moderna booster on December 14th! I felt pretty crummy with my last one, so already warned my boss I'd probably be off work, and my mom offered to watch my dog on the 15th, as well as bring me some soup

I know the new variant is supposedly vaccine resistant, and I'm still masking and distancing anyway, but still - I'm eager to be as vaccinated as I can be.

As of yet, we really don't know if that's the case: let the scientists find out, not journalists and social media.

I agree with you PM, but unfortunately some journalists and certain people/groups on social media are sadly addicted to spreading misinformation and propaganda without the full facts.

It's still very much a case of 'wait and see' with Omicron, though AFAIK no person with it has reported any mega adverse symptoms so far, nor has there been any reports of anyone dying of said variant so far.

But how long since the 2nd jab? I can't recall anything giving us figures to understand how waning immunity might be a problem but it must be.

They said it's going to take about 2 weels to research it but it may not be as serious as Delta.
