Yes, it's a case of 'only time will tell'.

So far, there still doesn't appear to be any reported links between the pilot live music and nightclub events in Liverpool almost a fortnight ago and increases in Covid cases, which were being scrupulously monitored throughout by specialist personnel scrutinising and surveying patterns of behaviours.

Ditto for the Snooker Final at the Crucible in Sheffield around the same time.

HUGE announcement by President Biden and the CDC. As of today, if you've been vaccinated, you no longer need to wear a mask or social distance indoors or outdoors!

He emphasized getting the vaccine and continue to wear a mask of you haven't had the vaccine.

Yep, that popped up in my NYT feed earlier.

Now, would you have got to this place if you still had the orange shit-flinging gibbon in charge?

Of course, some will now take to wearing masks to protect themselves from the vaccinated...

The NHS site now says >38 for vaccination. Great, now we will be fighting with another load added.

I've had 3 different days I could get my first but couldn't book any of them because the second would be much too far away. The second jabs are getting further away into other counties.

Pulisa, anything good happening your way in 12 weeks? It's looking like I might be best taking in a show on a special vaccination weekend!

Don't come to Woking, Terry! That's a guaranteed hot spot in the weeks to come!

In our area the local sites are offered by booking through the GP surgery. If you go on the NHS national booking site the venues are miles away.

Could you not just book your first jab and then wait for local sites to come up nearer the time for your 2nd?

Sadly not, pulisa. The NHS booking site requires you to book both or it won't complete. Although it has changed today, it now asks if I'm pregnant (cheeky beggars, I've even cut out my naughty go-to foods)

I asked at our surgery and they are only doing 2nd jabs. Now everyone is moving onto the 2nd cluster of groups it will be months again. Maybe they will start sweeping up the rest of us then but they'll probably be onto the >20s by then.

Damn, no trip on the train then. I even have my "I've been diagnosed with Covid" t-shirt to get me a roomy space.

Why not book the 2nd jab anywhere and then you can cancel and rebook at a more local site nearer the time?

Never thought of that. Thanks, it's worth a try.

Right that's me booked for 24th. Can't cancel the 2nd until after as it tries to do both. Thanks for the tip, never gave it a thought so could have got it done in the last 2 weeks if I did.

I wonder if others are doing this? But at least once I set the click running I can then access my surgery if the booking site is still no good. Boris better watch out for a lot of us doing this as the bottleneck will come at some point. My 2nd being in August will at least be after everyone has had their first and the full focus will be on the boosters.

That site has got rushed written all over. Poor UAT. From telling me I missed an appointment when I never completed a booking to the message if you can't get a booking for the 2nd at the same site which still says you may need to book after April due to demand. Still, at least it's not an old spreadsheet app
