Our daily confirmed cases back down to the low 1,000s again today. (1,056).
Only 2 more recorded deaths though.

Another for the "you can't make this stuff up" category....

Yesterday, in a meeting about the pandemic, Tweety said.... "
If we stop testing right now, we'd have very few cases, if any".

Just think... If we stop testing for all the the world's diseases, we could eradicate them!

Some old lady in iceland today, while getting up close behind me in the queue despite signs saying to keep to the 2m distance rule: "this is ridiculous, they should open up all the tills"

Potentially, a bit of good news here.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-53061281

The low-dose steroid treatment dexamethasone is a major breakthrough in the fight against the deadly virus, UK experts say.
The drug is part of the world's biggest trial testing existing treatments to see if they also work for coronavirus.
It cut the risk of death by a third for patients on ventilators. For those on oxygen, it cut deaths by a fifth.
Had the drug had been used to treat patients in the UK from the start of the pandemic, up to 5,000 lives could have been saved, researchers say.

Some more positive news on the BBC News website is that a drug to reduce the chances of COVID-19 deaths by a third has been discovered, and is reported to be as 'cheap as chips'!!
