Well, it looks like face coverings will be compulsory in shops from the 24th of this month.

Cue the inevitable howling from some quarters.

    Why wait so long?
Why not do it now before things get any worse?

I agree, Phill, no need to delay so long. But I would give a short period to allow us to buy them, knowing our local council they would treat it like the annual Christmas 'roadside police check' to boost public cash and station plods on the doors from tomorrow to fine those of us who don't have them at home

    IF you can get any.
    Why can't they be supplied.
The govts are all bragging about how many they have.

I think it takes a short time to make this officially a law?

So relieved that they're finally making it compulsory.

    I’m ok with it too.

I think the delay is to allow people to get hold of them and for shops to work out how to enforce it maybe?
Also to make sure the news filters through.
Still, if you have one then start wearing it. Cases are on the rise in my local area too.

I'd have put this in the "second lockdown" thread but the mods have closed it.

The news are reporting on this today. They also said they think it’s unlikely to happen.
