Very little bowel movement after grumbling appendix problem

It's been nearly two months now since I was hospitalized with appendicitis, though it was mild enough to be treated with antibiotics. The only problem I have now is my bowel movement is virtually nil, yet I still feel at times like I need to go. Sometimes, though, I've eaten too much fibre and I have a diarrhoea attack. Not to mention the discomfort in my appendix area that just comes and goes. I could take a laxative, I suppose, but the last time I did that is what landed me in the hospital in the first place, I think. Should I see a doctor about this?

You may have already resolved your issue and I hope you’re feeling better today. We can’t really offer medical advice on here, but since you’ve recently had appendicitis, it may be a good idea to ring the doc, just to get their opinion about the discomfort and the laxative.
