Re: America's 2nd Civil War
I was talking about this with FM. I do feel for H & M a bit, but I don't empathize with them. I can imagine someone asking "How dark do you think your kid will be?" That happens pretty often. Colorism is alive and well, even in families with a lot of different races and ethnicity. And I can believe the media was unkind and intense; I mean, we all saw that. I can also believe that she didn't get to leave the house for long stretches of time; think about how much security you'd have to summon just to leave the house?
But what I can't believe is that she was so naive as to know nothing about the royal family when going into it. Even if she was naive enough not to do any research, why would Harry not have warned her? I can't believe that he's just throw his wife in with no warning about all the rules and expectations. Also, she's not that young. She had to have known that his mom passed away being chased down by paparazzi. That obviously tells you that the media pressure will be intense. I wonder if she thought she would just go in and change everything? I mean, a lot of people getting married thinking they will change their spouse.
I don't think either side is without blame here.
