Bowel obstruction

Spoke to dr today, my fobt test was positive. Now have to have a endoscopy and colonscopy within the next two weeks.
Scared I have cancer.
Has anyone had a positive FoBt test and been ok.
Ive lost a lot of weight , but think this is stress. I’m also prone to fissures, I had one a couple of weeks ago , but feels like it has healed.

I haven't had a positive fobt but I have known people who have and it turned out fine. Is your gp overly concerned? If you are prone to fissures then that could be the cause. Have you noticed bleeding from your fissure?

I had bleeding a couple of weeks ago, but I thought that it had healed. Dr feels I need to have these tests to rule out anything sinister.

These occult blood tests are highly sensitive and you've seen bleeding recently from your fissure. You know you won't be satisfied with our responses so having these tests will give you a definitive answer and they will be done quickly.
