Feel like body is just about to fail

So since nearly the start of lockdown, I've been getting headaches and strange rushes of anixety. It's a very up and down feeling but in the last two weeks it's gotta a lot worse.

I'm constantly jumpy, at least twice tonight I suddenly felt like I was gonna faint or just black out but I suddenly snapped back to attention and the rushing feeling went away. I feel like my heart is suddenly going to stop beating, those moments are scary to me as I sure they are to everyone.

It's like I feel like I can't keep my eyes opened and I suddenly snap up gasping for air.

My head is in pieces, lots of different along pointss but mainly down the bridge of my nose and behind my eye. I've tried everything but nothing seem to be working :( I just have this constant forehead full feeling. Just lots of awful stuff.

I'm just feeling scared, I'm a front line worker and I can't just get sick. I could really use some help. I know I'm probs really in the deep toss of ha but I'm really desperate right now. I really feel like I'm about to drop dear or something . It's never been likez I've always loved living alive. Thank you.

Sorry is this a ramble, just really feel like I'm losing my mind sometimes.

Hi Louise, I've had all those feelings you describe. Especially the feeling like I'm going to black out and the anxiety rushes, and all sorts of weird feelings. For me it is anxiety and hormones. It may be the same thing for you?

Hi Louise, sorry that you’re still going through it.

It is very much a new symptom of anxiety.
You need to remind yourself of all you’ve managed to achieve every day. You get up, you get ready, You get to work and you help other people ALL day! You have the worry of covid around you, but you still do it every day. You’re a hero Louise!

So you’re not sick, you have anxiety about getting sick. When you get those rushing feelings it’s almost like you were relaxing for a minute, but your body is so tense that it’s finding it hard to relax all your muscles.
    I’ve had it - it’s quite common.

Find some little mindfulness remedies to distract you and re-settle yourself. Once I had taught myself progressive muscle relaxation, I could do a quick body scan in a few seconds and relax the muscles that had tensed up.
The 5 senses one is good too: (I copied this from uvm medical source)

One example of a mindfulness exercise is called the Five Senses Exercise. The goal is to calm your mind by using your five senses to focus on your environment instead of your thoughts.

Here are the steps to complete this exercise:

First, notice 5 things that you can see. Look around you and become aware of your environment. Try to pick out something that you don’t usually notice.
Second, notice 4 things you can feel. Bring attention to the things that you’re currently feeling, such as the texture of your clothing or the smooth surface of the table you’re resting your hands on.
Third, notice 3 things that you can hear. Listen for and notice things in the background that you don’t normally notice. It could be the birds chirping outside or an appliance humming in the next room.
Fourth, notice 2 things you can smell. Bring attention to scents that you usually filter out, either pleasant or unpleasant. Catch a whiff of the pine trees outside or food cooking in the kitchen.
Finally, notice 1 thing you can taste. Take a sip of a drink, chew gum, or notice the current taste in your mouth.

You don’t have to make it difficult for yourself, especially if you’re in the work environment. You need to be able to do things without drawing attention to yourself! I’ve done Progressive muscle relaxation in the middle back seat of a car surrounded by friends!

    Wishing you well xx

I'm just dropping by to say that I've been signed off work because of a breakdown. I was working over 100 hours a week since covid started as I'm a care specialist in a nursing home. I'm still feeling horrible but getting lots of rest and hoping to be back and helping in work soon x

Re: Feel like body is just about to fail

Just wanted to update this. I went back to work on the 10th. The headache aren't as often but they can be quite overwhelming at first. I'm also just exhausted, I know what I'm about to say will sound silly but I've always been a person who didn't need much sleep- yet falling asleep so early lately been causing me lots of stress- silly I know!

My emtional state is all over the place since getting the coil in, some bleeding and pelvic pain bit nothing to bad.

Today was the first time in a long time I felt a thighness in my chest and my pulse feels high- but trying to push it to the side as much as possible and just enjoy some of the sunshine

Re: Feel like body is just about to fail

    Just want to update again,

I'm trying to be more reasonable again with thinking. Like headaches are probs neck tense and sinus issues due to weather. Strange red patch on neck? Probs just some dry skin out some cream on it.

In therapy I've been dealing with my thoughts process more, like how I was never really worried about my health until ((tw)) after being sexual assulted and it became like a triggered point for my mind. It's like don't gotta worry about this other stuff!! Freak about your health. Ofc it's it's own issues now but trying to work on it all.

Re: Feel like body is just about to fail

I'm really struggling today. The headaches are back rather badly, it's really causing issues behind my left eye and temple. I know it's probs just muscles tension. I keep getting flashes in my eyes but it's probs just hyper aware of things.

My heart has been in my mouth all day, slipping beats and just feeling strange. I had my heart tests not so long ago so know it's nothing but it's unpleasant.

I feel like I'm going to really struggle to sleep tonight. I am reminding myself of how far I've come. I've not googled anything in seven whole months which is massive for me as I used to spend every moment googling everytime soothing felt slightly off.
