Pb, please be very frank and honest with your GP about how this is affecting your life. Tell them that you cannot pause the fear and think clearly.
Do you ever notice how you’re breathing? When you are anxious you often breathe from your chest instead of your belly? When I do that for too often my chest hurts. I suspect that’s what’s happening with you.
One of the easiest pauses is to try some quick breathing exercises or mindfulness. You could try the 5 things one very easily from wherever you are. Try it please, it will give your mind and body a little pause from the anxiety.
5-4-3-2-1 Coping Technique for Anxiety
5: Acknowledge FIVE things you see around you. It could be a pen, a spot on the ceiling, anything in your surroundings.
4: Acknowledge FOUR things you can touch around you. ...
3: Acknowledge THREE things you hear. ...
2: Acknowledge TWO things you can smell. ...
1: Acknowledge ONE thing you can taste.
Or you could try something simple like:

The 5-4-3-2-1 exercise is brilliant - I use it when I start feeling panicky on my walk to work.

Spoke to gp, she has recommended some stretching exercises.
She thinks the review with the psychiatrist on Friday is a good idea.
Scass thank you for your recommendations, I will definitely give them a try, I know I must seem like a lost cause.
Gp thinks that therapy and medication will probably be recommended by the psychiatrist.
Yep I agree with the GP like I said pages ago about seeing a Psychiatrist but as usual no reply.
So I will stay off this thread and you should too until after you have had your sessions with the Psych.Once again Good luck.
