That's excellent!! That's a huge deal. Good on ya!

They are, yes, but only in your mind. They are not dangerous. In reality, your heart is responding as it should to you triggering the stress response, and fear - despite what you've seen in the movies - will never kill you - unless you have a bad heart, and you don't.

The ectopic beats are common - especially with anxiety. Drink lots of water and another top tip from Nora is to cough when you get one - that stimulates the vagus nerve and you will feel ok. Or burp. Try it.

You won't damage yourself. Your body is tougher than you think pb. However, the tingling will continue as long as you continue to put pressure on your arteries. Constant checking is key in keeping you mentally unwell. Your pulse will start to race at the thought of taking your pulse. My heart races as soon as I clap eyes on the BP monitor in the doctors!

Why are you taking your carotid pulse?

I cannot stress this on you enough, pb, you need to STOP checking your pulse!
    Thank you

I’m so worried about the ectopic beats it’s consuming me at the moment.
Have a good burp/cough and see if it helps!

Do you have plans today? Plans which don't involve you checkin' ya vital signs every five minutes?

I am going to put my shopping away that the nice man from Tesco has just delivered, and then I'm going to tackle Mr Batty's 'office' (was my sunroom up until lockdown) - this could take some time.

    How about you?

I’m going to put some eBay stuff on, I went out to M&S to get some bits and my heart felt fine, it’s just when I’m sitting I think I can hear it.

I find Ebaying very exciting. Those last few seconds when the bidding goes nuts? Blows my mind.

Posh nosh eh? Or are we talking socks and undies?

    and my heart felt fine
Of course it felt fine because it is a healthy heart..

So, what's on the agenda for this afternoon, pb?

I, having ventured into Mr Batty's pit of a temporary office, am going to watch Call The Midwife while I have some dinner. I do like ear-piercing screams and cries of 'ONE MORE PUSH, SWEETIE!' while I'm tucking into my tuna sandwich.

I earned my leisure time after cleaning Mr Batty's desk (and surrounding area)

...Wow, I only just now realised what your username referred to. Yes, that sounds like leisure time well-earned.

I managed yesterday to only take my pulse a couple of times, but I’ve woken up with pins and needles in my left hand and it doesn’t seem to be getting better. This is making me panic and going back to I must of caused permanent damage, I’m trying to be rational but it’s so difficult. Psychiatrist is calling at 11.30 today .
