I hope this thread is helping you let off some steam pb. I'm suffering some weird nerve/muscle issues with my arms and legs as well and just be assured you're not alone in your neverending health anxiety. It's a beast that refuses to go away and it takes a lot of attempts at taking it down to finally vanquish. Stay positive.

Psychiatrist has increased my medication, but didn’t say anything else. Gp is calling this afternoon.

Gp calls every couple of weeks to see how I am.
Had a really bad panic attack this morning and took my pulse loads of times and pressed my neck about three times, now feel sick and am worried I’ve damaged something in my neck and now I will always feel sick, I hope this is not possible.
Psychiatrist has told gp that I have severe anxiety and that I will have therapy when my medication is sorted out.

Okay, so, what if you always feel sick. What will happen?

It will be awful and affect my quality of life, not that’s its good at the moment anyway.

What reassurance do you hope to gain by continually checking your pulse - especially when you are having a panic attack where the heart will naturally race in response to the fight or flight response having been triggered?

At the moment, the psyche can't work with you because your anxiety is too severe for anything to go in. Hopefully the medication will calm you down sufficiently for the work - which will heal you - to start.

So the next question is - what is your GP doing about sorting your meds out?

The psychiatrist is sorting my medication dose and increasing it slowly because of my HA.
My gp has been supportive, I will really try not to take my pulse today, but I知 worried I致e damaged something in my neck and will always feel sick.
My niece has her holy communion tonight and I知 scared about being In the church because of my panic.
I feel like I致e got a stomach upset, I知 trying to be rational, I only pressed my neck a few times.
I saw a programme on tv, where a lady had a damaged vagus nerve causing nausea, but she had had had four operations on her neck.
It really is horrible waking up at 5.30 with a bad panic attack.

Do you think you have a damaged vagus nerve?

    How's your gag reflex?

The most likely reason you are feeling sick is due to anxiety. I felt terribly sick when my HA was at it's worst. I couldn't stop retching. I was actually sick a few times. I was walking about with anti-sickness wristbands on and drinking ginger tea. I couldn't eat. I lost 2 stone in weight.

Never underestimate how retched anxiety can make you feel.

You are in a constant spiral of severe anxiety which will be playing absolute havoc with your digestive system. I would be very surprised of you didn't feel sick!

It is, but if you are sleeping until 5.30 - you're not doing too badly, pb. My PA's can start within 30 mins of falling asleep, (about 11pm) but usually happen between 1 and 3am.

Try your hardest to focus on your niece tonight. Don't allow anxiety to rob you of this memory. No pulse taking!!
