I had a bad reaction to St John's Wort and alcohol. Ask my mother (actually that might be difficult as she's dead) and my auntie; they had to carry me home. I'd only had half a glass of wine! (small glass, not a mega pint)

Crikey Nora. Glad you are ok and seemingly none the worse for that nasty reaction. I only took it for a few weeks and I'd ditched the alcohol after marriage got in the way.

On the gardening front, I'll soon have seeds from a slug-proof delphinium. Its delphinium requienii, a species plant that has waxy leaves that molluscs just do not like. I grow it like a biennial. I 'could' post seeds but of course that would mean real world postal addresses etc.

So pretty! I (obviously) have a massive love for Poppies, myself.

I planted some at my parents house several years back and they never took, then randomly started appearing in a totally different garden. It was such a nice surprise.

Poppies have a habit of doing that Poppy. Their seeds can lie dormant for many years, waiting for the right conditions. And when they flower its beautiful but fleeting.

I've been buying my wife orchids since we've been together. We have 8 still going strong. Caring for them has become a passion of mine and its always a thrill to see them bloom. One of the most beautiful flowers there is IMO. We had three of the eight bloom in time for Valentine's Day this year
