Woke up at 5am vomitting my guys up. It feels like my skin is all prickly. I was in bed and I couldn't stop shaking. I had some water after being sick and it came straight back out. I feel like my muscles all over are sore.

Freaked out a bit tbh. I hope it's co-codimol withdrawal because I was using them a lot daily. My mouth isn't any more pain, feels better.

Typical symptoms of codeine withdrawal can include the following:
    • Runny nose and watery eyes
    • Chills and goose bumps
    • Difficulty sleeping
    • Restlessness
    • Irritability
    • Loss of appetite
    • Muscle twitches

People can also experience severe symptoms of codeine withdrawal such as:

    • Insomnia
    • Fever
    • Rapid breathing
    • High blood pressure
    • Stomach cramps
    • Nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea
    • Agitation

Temperature is 38.5 underarm so low grade fever. Trust me to get all this crap going on.

Online says fever after extraction is normal for first couple of days. I'll keep an eye on it. If it gets worse I'll have to call my doctor, or pop up to A&E (which I don't want to do).

38.0 in my moth. Borderline. I'm not going to worry just yet but will call my dentist at 9am when they open.

All sorted. Dentist said it's normal to have low grade fever after extraction and as I have no pain or swelling it's not an infection. It's dropped to 37.4 now. It's almost as if my anxiety was making it rise higher because after phone call with dentist the readings were normal.

Just when you hoped you were going to get a good night sleep!
Anxiety can do funny things, but I think it was probably a bit of everything.

Glad to hear you're on the mend but my goodness, you didn't need a scare like that.

I know. Sucks, I've had an hour since waking at 4am but was really hoping to get a good sleep in.

Scared the life out of me when it happened because it most definitely didn't feel normal at all. I'm glad I'm better now.

It's probably not just a matter of anxiety. Is I mentioned before, dental extraction is literally trauma to the body and your immune system is likely to be triggered. Your CNS won't see it as any different to being stabbed or bitten.
