@MightyPC I’ve done a fit test, it was positive. :(

@Carys I’m around 26 months now. I don’t know why they want me to wait till baby is born I’m just so scared.

Last time when I wiped there was a maroon/brown piece of poop on the tissue paper, my anxiety level is rocket high at the moment.

I’m seriously going to lose it! Maroon poop

Today as I wiped there was maroon poop on the tissue paper! Rest of the poop looked normal so I know this was blood as I got tested for a fit test and it came out positive. I’m pregnant and the colorectal surgeon won’t see me till I give birth, so where looking at next year February. So I’m thinking if this is serious I’m surely screwed. I feel like I’m losing it cause I can hardly find anyone on the internet that can share having little maroon parts in stool that wasn’t serious. I’m totally spiraling. I can’t do this no more :(

Hiyer - please do get back in touch with your GP (I was just rereading your other thread) and ask for some more support. I don't think this level of anxiety can be doing you or your baby any good right now, and I think you should put your feelings to the professionals and try and get some answers. It doesn't seem reasonable to me that you don't really know or understand why they are leaving you at the moment, and I can see why you are so afraid.

@Carys I have spoken to my GP they won’t do anything as it’s been passed onto the colorectal surgeon and the surgeon says by the time I was to get a camera test I’ll be to far along in my pregnancy and it could cause the fetus stress. I think I can’t do much apart from pray, which I’m doing. Praying this isn’t serious.

That really sucks ! ...and thats an understatement ! Its a really difficult situation, and you said that the surgeon had no idea what the cause was - there was no 'gut' feeling ? (excuse the pun)

It truly sucks! The only thing giving me some calmness is not having any other symptoms apart from the blood. I started off with bright blood only when I had a hard stool to this maroon stool/maroon mucas even is the stool is soft and this worries me so much. I have visible hemorrhoids slightly protruding but I very much doubt they will cause maroon stool and maroon mucas. Been searching the internet like crazy for similar symptoms can’t find anything.

.....but Anxiety, I still think that if the consultant thought you were at high risk then you would already be in there and not plonked on a waiting list. I don't think they'd be taking 'chances'. I ask you again, what did he/she say about your symptoms ?

I have been thinking about your post, and can't help but feel that 'something' is missing from the discussion. I don't mean this rudely, at all, but have seen it happen here before many times with people with HA. There is a doctor visit, or specialist visit and the person is told various things about the possibility of their conditions and yet they are dismissed and the desire for the test and the belief it is still the most serious of conditions becomes all-encompassing. I know you are very worried indeed, but the fact that your GP and the specialist aren't rushing forward on these things and seem to be 'putting you off' on the colonoscopy would make me think they aren't worried at all.

I think that if that specialist thought you have bowel cancer you would not be on a waiting list right now, I feel that they thought your piles were the most likely cause and there were no other associated symptoms or risk factors noted to go along with bowel cancer. (Did this all start in pregnancy?) Can you explain what the specialist actually said, the whole lot (and not the HA version, the version with everything they said, because HA people as we all know mentally remove the things that are positive or encouraging)

Hi Cary honestly trying not to be HA on this but seeing blood everyday can not be normal and can’t just be overthinking it. The colorectal surgeon said any case of blood in stool should be checked with camera and he also said my fit test was high so I need a colonoscopy, but cause I’m 30 and don’t have other symptoms his delaying it till after the baby is born as he doesn’t want to risk doing it while I’m pregnant as it may cause fetal distress. Won’t even do sigmoidoscopy cause he thinks colonoscopy is better. I have had these symptoms before pregnancy and would have got a camera test if it wasn’t for Covid.
