    Boarding my cat

Okay, my anxiety is kind of taking over a bit. I have to go out of town and board my cat for a week. I'm not really afraid of him spreading anything to me (I fully plan on giving him a bath when he gets home) but am concerned by the possibility that he could catch covid and get sick himself. He is up to date on all vaccinations.

My other option is to pay a bit more and have someone come into my house to take care of him - he'd be exposed to less people and other cats that way, but I'm not sure that's really much better.

Any advice? Can someone help me rationalize this?

    Re: Boarding my cat

There are 470 million dogs kept as pets worldwide

There are 373 million cats kept as pets worldwide

There are many many more millions of other pets kept worldwide

15 pets in the entire world have been diagnosed with covid.....

I will leave you to do the maths on that one

    Re: Boarding my cat

If I were you, I would pay for someone to get to your house, if you can afford it, of course. Not that I think that the cat may get Covid or anything for that matter, but I am sure you know, as a cat person, that it is very stressful for them, much more so than for dogs, to be taken out of their familiar place. We always do that with our kitty, and to be honest, it does not cost that much more at all, at least where I live.
