    Twitching in thigh

Please help I’m at my wits end.
I have been worrying about twitching for 6 months now. I have been getting random twitching all over. I have been to my doctor twice and she is not concerned and believes it to be anxiety.

I was starting to calm down a bit but then today my thigh started twitching. Not just the odd popping and quick twitch, it was really strong. Then I looked down and could see the twitching through my trousers. This has sent me spiralling. Surely twitching like this is not normal. The fact I can see my trousers moving as the thigh twitches feels like it points to what I fear most. I’m sat here now and it’s literally going crazy in that part of my thigh.

Please help. My doctor doesn’t think I need referring but then I hadn’t had the twitching this intense then.

    I can’t stop crying.

Take what I say with a hint of scepticism, but it does sound like magnesium deficiency. My mother had something similar in her arm and a family member told her to take a magnesium tablet or two, where a day or two later it was completely gone (the twitching that is). I've had it a few times myself and having a magnesium soluble tablet in some water stops it by the end of the day or the following morning, really hope that helps and solves it for you.

PS: let me know if it did work for you, but also stick to any guidelines etc. it says on the package when you take any supplements or medication etc.

FCat... having perused your post history, its quite clear what the real issue is. Ultimately, its up to you to address it.

Thank you Mrs London I will try.

FMP - I know exactly what you’re saying. In fact I’ve reread them over and over to help me. This twitching today has really frightened me and now that I am 51 I can’t use the reassurance that I’m too young.
I have a new set of cbt starting soon with a specialist so I’m hoping it will help me learn to manage my anxiety. I can’t stop crying with fear. When I read my old posts I could see it was anxiety driven but I really can’t see that this time.

No problem, both you and Fishmanpa could be correct and it could just be the anxiety. But there is no harm in taking some magnesium supplements, in fact what I do is mix a bunch of soluble supplement tablets i.e. magnesium, vitamin c & zinc and multi-vitamins (contains mostly B vitamins) in a 1.75 ltr bottle with some fruit juice dilute for extra flavour, which lasts me maybe a day or two and I repeat twice a week.

Hi Flattery cat I’m so sorry your going through this and I know exactly how you feel . I’ve had twitching all over my body and my thigh has literally been jumping through my trousers it’s been nearly two years now. I’m 30 and this started at 28 pretty much has consumed my whole life.

I’ve noticed it’s much worse when I’m anxious or alone with my thoughts and not distracted with work etc .

I have a vitamin d deficiency and have been taking supplements as well as magnesium to help it .

I’m still here 2 years later although believe me I’m still pretty much a mess - I try and stay as positive as I can .

Just wanted to let you know your not alone in this
