I've been there Wired and its a nightmare, Pulisa's had to talk me down a few times in the past bless her, and she still remained patient!! My anxiety has shifted focus over the last 2 or 3 years to HA, though strangely this year, when I'm faced with a genuine health concern, I've been much better.
But 2018 it was a heart obsession that found me at the cardio unit on a treadmill. My heart was fine, big surprise. Then last year I had a lesion on the back of my hand, I entered those words into google and skin cancer came up, no other results. So off I went to see the GP, I was bracing myself for the inevitable referral to a specialist. The GP took one look and said 'wart'.
With the internet we can diagnose ourselves at the drop of a hat. Pre-internet I would have gone to the library, searched for a book on dermatology, and still probably not find any reference to skin cancer that I could apply to myself. But google throws it in our face, we just have to try and resist the urge.
