Anxiety brain for you mate. I see the first headline and off I go. I'm remaining hopeful that a vaccine comes soon. Annoys me even more that I get snared by headlines, start reading, and then start worrying. I've been pretty calm since I didn't go hunting but today my itchy fingers Googled "coronavirus". It's actually very hard to not Google coronavirus.

It's not. Just don't do it.

Sounds dismissive, but that's all there is to it. Don't.

There are quite a few letters in coronavirus so time to stop yourself typing it if you can't resist, James. It makes sense. You know how suggestible you are to misleading headlines.

I know. It's like when a person is OCD with a health anxiety and they can't stop Googling. We've all been there right?

Yes, there is that. But I also completely misread the tone or intention of an article too.

It's easy to do that when you're anxious.

The number one rule of health anxiety is never google. It has to be cold turkey method. Nothing about health, ever.

I've been there Wired and its a nightmare, Pulisa's had to talk me down a few times in the past bless her, and she still remained patient!! My anxiety has shifted focus over the last 2 or 3 years to HA, though strangely this year, when I'm faced with a genuine health concern, I've been much better.

But 2018 it was a heart obsession that found me at the cardio unit on a treadmill. My heart was fine, big surprise. Then last year I had a lesion on the back of my hand, I entered those words into google and skin cancer came up, no other results. So off I went to see the GP, I was bracing myself for the inevitable referral to a specialist. The GP took one look and said 'wart'.

With the internet we can diagnose ourselves at the drop of a hat. Pre-internet I would have gone to the library, searched for a book on dermatology, and still probably not find any reference to skin cancer that I could apply to myself. But google throws it in our face, we just have to try and resist the urge.

Would needle phobia stop you having an injectable vaccine, Phil?
