    Rats.

Where I live has gone from Tier 1 to Tier 3.

Oh well, never mind. I can get a test now if I wish!

I'm not hopeful about these vaccines: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/202...study-results/

I posted that in my other thread but thought it's probably better here as this thread is about the vaccine.

There's only so long our brains can cling on to hope being shared by the media. It's a real life s**tshow.

Now I'm back to distrusting and tbh anybody who distrusts what they read right now has every right to be skeptical about anything that comes from media sources.

Very curious standpoint to take on ONE media story.

We always knew that posted results were partial, and even if the vaccine is 'only' 62% effective that is more than enough for herd immunity to happen.

Bigger picture bro, you can't catastrophise every news event that doesn't paint a rosy picture. This article is painting a terrible picture of still excellent results.

Flu vaccines are between 40-60% effectiveness aren't they? So are we getting too hung up on it being as close to perfect as possible? And why they are considering administering several types.

Tier 3 for us. I think we might drop down soon if our reductions continue as we've seen around a 25% drop in cases over last week and we had reductions then too.

But it will just start up again...

Not only that, different dosages (they ARE still in testing remember) will net different results. They will eventually recommend the dosage that provided the best results.

The newspaper is (as usual) cherry picking the worst information possible, and then presenting it in the worst (and least educated) manner.

I wonder what next from the entitled 'misusers' of free speech/expression and civil liberties?

Demands to scrap the smoking bans?

Demands to make corporal punishment of children fully legal again in all settings?

Demands to make being gay illegal again?

Demands to have all persons with disabilities locked up?

    Demands to ban BME people?

Demands to legalise domestic violence/wife battering?

Demands to reinstate the death sentence?

Exactly, to appeal to the so-called 'know-it-alls' who will no doubt be itching to say 'I told you so' if it all goes belly up!!

    Re: The vaccine

Before anyone should get any medical treatment, they need to talk to their doctor. Each person has their own unique medical history. That's why we are all generally urged to find a GP and stick to that GP because they know our medical history. If your doc clears you to get the vaccine, then you should get the vaccine. If your doctor does not clear you, then you better hope like hell that everyone else gets it and keep wearing your mask and staying apart.
