If you're really keen to avoid swearing, I'd recommend finding locations that are wholly or partially aimed at under-16s.
Well perhaps the govt and OFCOM might just as well go the whole hog and scrap the 9pm watershed then.

After all, it would probably make the likes of Corrie, EastEnders, etc far more realistic if their scripts were plastered with full-on profanities!

They might also just as well go the whole hog and scrap the smoking ban too. After all, nobody batted an eyelid about passive smoking before the 2000s did they, and like swearing, people often tend to smoke more when they're stressed out!

I'm not full-on offended by the word in itself but I see this forum as a fairly safe space, not just for myself but for everyone, and this isn't the place where I want to be reading such words.

I don't mind if they are partially filtered (e.g, written as 'f**k', or ''kin''/''king'), but not spelled out in full, even in 'umlaut' style.

There's probably others that might disapprove of such words appearing on here but will probably just do nothing because they might just assume that said issue is too trivial to trouble the mods over.

    But hey ho.

Reminds me of Mrs Brown's Boys..

"I used to say f**k off!" "Now I say 'That's nice!"

With the greatest of respect, that's ********. Passive smoke can kill people, and while words used in anger can cause trauma, if the intent behind them is benign they don't harm anyone.

I'm really sorry you're feeling awful right now, but you're putting your anger in the wrong place unless you're actually looking for a ruck.

No, I'm definitely not looking for a ruck BI.

And as far as the scrapping the smoking ban thing is concerned, I was just being facetious.

But there are still certain subsets of society who like to think that they have a god-given right to smoke wherever and whenever they please, and use the 'never did past generations any harm' rhetoric and 'stuff everyone else' to justify their actions and opinions.

Anyway, I'm done with this thread for the rest of today.

Makes you look at the theme from Beverly Hillbillies a little different eh?

Re: Media seem to have gone quiet over crime rates just lately

I've noticed the media still don't seem to make that big a deal over overall crime stats like they once did, from both the police and the CSEW.

Even just a few years back (up until around 2017-18) they seemed to be published twice a year, firstly quite early on in the 'calendar' year and again around July or so.

Now the only stats seem to be from the ONS site.
