    Mucus in poo

    Hi all

I have had IBS for 10 yrs.

Last few weeks I have had a flare up. Symptoms returning on and off.
Past two days had the bloating, wind etc and been constipated.
Today I went, and it was really hard and pebbles, there was more mucus than normal. Most was white, but there was a bit that looked orangey red and my bottom now feels sore.

I am now worried there is something wrong.
    Is this normal for ibs?

    Thanks

When I have a flare up I get the orange stuff as well. I have been worried in the past but have had colonoscopy and fecal occult test done a few times as all has been fine, so just put down to IBS symptoms.

Yes, 'normal', or rather should I say 'not unusual'.

I have this too. Always when I’m constipated.

Red streaks in mucus and on poo

    Hi all

Has anyone experienced blood on stool and in mucus?
    Its bright red streaks.
The red on stool isnt worrying me as much as the red streaks in the mucus.
Also my bottom feels very sore.

    Thanks

This is very common and is usually due to an anal problem- either a fissure or piles....

Sounds like piles to me and/or a fissure.
