Re: Older social media platforms in the 2000s

It was mentioned in the BBC website this morning that Bebo might be brought back, both to conquer misinformation on all the other platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc) and to appeal to nostalgia.

Which I find rather baffling as Bebo officially ceased trading only in 2019, and had already been a dying breed for almost a decade prior to then.

Why not just start afresh with a completely new brand name if intending to fight misinformation, rather than reviving the old name in order to relive the 2000s, which I personally can't find that much to be nostalgic about.

I'd start one called 'Soapbox' as everybody seems to be on one these days. (me included)

I like words - as in how they sound. 'Groovy' is one such word and I was using it for years until my step-daughters almost broke ribs laughing at me telling them to have a 'groovy' day at school. Don't use it so much now.

If I like a word, I will find a way to include it - regardless of whether if it's appropriate or not.
