Have you experienced this? OCD to avoid real worries?

Have any of you had real worries, such as a bad marriage or financial problems, only to find that your OCD jumps in with scary thoughts that consume you? So you are then worried about irrational things versus real things? Almost like a sub-conscience avoidance mechanism?

You bet! I've been dealing with a perfect storm of real issues during lockdown - relationship, financial, friendships past their sell by date, elderly mother with both cancer and dementia - and the ludicrous intrusive thoughts have been a real problem. I find meditation and laughing at OCD's more wild efforts pretty helpful.
