The 2 week rule, should still be working, but as has been evident - different areas have different pressures during covid. My own experience of the breast clinic in my area is that during lockdown number 1 last March it was a disaster, and things cancelled/delayed. Over the following 2 months they got themselves back in order as they managed to filter covid people off to a separate process, and they then put in place their own stringent procedures to be able to catch back up. Then they were twiddling their thumbs for some time, the staff, as the public were cancelling on them and the staff were only dealing with non-covid issues so free to work. I really don't know what it might be like now in lockdown 2, and as I say it varies in different hospitals and areas, but I would certainly be hopeful that the two week rule should apply providing they aren't still playing catch-up.
I don't know if anybody else has any more recent experience ? One place you could ask is on
It isn't just for diagnosed people, unlike some other specialist forums and support people who are worried about any changes/symptoms or test results. If you go to the forum, then choose 'have I got breast cancer' and then choose 'Appointments and waiting for test results' I'm sure somebody would be along with recent experience to help in your query.
