I loved the Kite Runner (I also want to read 'A thousand splendid suns by the same author) as well - a fantastic book that was very moving.Philip Pullman's, Dark materials books are probably the best series I've read, complete fantasy and transport you away from your current reality.Other favourite recent reads are: Half of a Yellow Sun House at Riverton The Island Never Let Me Go Birdsong The Shadow of the Wind The Time Travellers Wife Currently reading The Other Side of the Bridge which is turning out to be great as well.
Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall. Confucius
I loved the Amateur Marriage by Anne Tyler. I dare not read it again in case it disappoints me.
I was really drawn into the book " We need to talk about Kevin" It's not a nice read - it's grim and thought provoking but sometimes I need a read like that.
I love Patricia Cornwell, PD James too. Also like Laurie Grahame for a n=more light hearted read as she makes me laugh.
Has anyone read 'The Secret'?
It has been getting an awful lot of press lately and I was wondering what people thought of it?
