Anyone here taking osmotic laxatives on the regular?

Hi everyone, after a consultation with the GI yesterday, I was advised to take a small dose of osmotic laxative every day to help produce high calibre/bigger stools. I was just wondering if anyone here has been taking an osmotic laxative every day, or do you just take it when you feel backed up/have pebble sized stools? Thanks so much in advance for your help!

I take a dose of Miralax daily... been doing so for years. It helps.

Thanks for your reply and glad it works for you! I was just a bit concerned that I am needing a laxative at 28 years of age, if you don’t mind me asking when did you start taking it and what were your primary symptoms?

After my cancer treatment at age 53. I was always very regular but after treatment and to this day, it's up and down and everything in between. With the laxative (I mix the dose in with my morning yogurt and fruit) and good diet I'm about as regular as I'm going to be. It's just added fiber. Bottom line is it can't hurt you at all.
