    Support Group....Newcastle upon Tyne

    Hi

I have been asked by my CPN if I would be interested in setting up a support group for those of us suffering from depression / anxiety in the north east.
There is very little available currently.

The idea would be to meet fortnightly for a coffee and a chat just to let each other know how we are doing and so that we can support each other and make new friends too.

If you would be interested, please let me know either by replying here or pm-ing me.

Look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Nicola,

Good idea - every town should have a group like this!

I run a group here in Surrey, but got some help in setting it up.

Just wondered what kind of set-up you were thinking of? A room was made available to me and we meet twice a month in the evening. It is informal.

Is anyone going to run it with you?

Feel free to PM me if I can help - I started my group in Feb 2006.

This would be brilliant. I don't know anyone else in this area with similar problems and I'm on a 5 month waiting list to get onto the "official" user groups.

I won't be able to come to every get together as it's expensive for me to get the bus down to Newcastle but I'd come along to every other one.

    YES, YES YES!!

I am living in darlington and think that would be excellent. The worst feeling is feeling you are the only one or the worst case ever. Let me know what happens or if you need any help setting this up?

I wish the support group could be in Darlington as thats the furthest I can travel to, from North Yorkshire.

I'd definately try to make it fortnightly too.
