HUGE blood clot during period

Hi there,

I’ve just started my period 4 days ago. Last night, for the first time ever, I passed a blood clot that was at least 3x3 inches. I’ve always had small clots during periods but never, ever have I had one that size. I’ve already messaged my GP but won’t hear from them until tomorrow I’m assuming. I’m terrified. Has anyone else ever passed very large blood clots??

Hi, didn’t want to read and run. Since I had my daughter 22 years ago, I’ve always had heavy periods. I do pass clots and some are quite big. At the time I remember asking my practice nurse about it and she said it was normal so I’ve never thought about it again. Sometimes I’ve noticed I don’t have any clots but i think I’m Perimenopausal so things down there will change I expect from month to month.
