Blood in stool - I’m also on my period, can period blood “stain” the stool?

I’m really anxious at the moment as this morning I noticed red streaks of blood in my stool. My period is quite heavy at the moment but I’ve never had anything like this before, has anyone ever had their period “stain” the stool? Or is it more likely that I’m bleeding from an internal haemorrhoid? I did three FOB tests last year, all negative, but this is very new. I’m 28F and my blood tests from less than 6 months ago were also normal. Any advice appreciated and apologies for panicking.

I would imagine so. I’ve never actually inspected mine up close, but during your period it can all get a bit messy sometimes. Perhaps not the best time to be looking for blood.

Yes I’ve definitely had this. The blood is messy and can get everywhere. Try not to worry.
