“Lymph node” ultrasound
This is going to be a little bit confusing and long winded so please hang in there. In 2019 I found a lump in the left side of my neck and at the time it was really long and thin so I wasn’t too worried about it because if it was a lymph node that meant it felt reactive because it was so oval and thin so I didn’t see a doctor. Fast forward to last week I’ve been poking it often on for the last two years probably a couple times a day every day and now it feels a lot larger well back in 2016 I had a CT of my neck for another lymph node in the results came back as an almost 2 cm out of my neck but the results said most likely reactive and nothing was ever done.
Wednesday I finally got the ultrasound for it and when I went to get it the text said she couldn’t find a lymph node and said all she saw was muscle and fat and tissue which I thought was insane because this thing is pretty big like it feels almost like a grape sometimes and even the radiologist came in at one point and said yeah it looks like it’s basically some fat and tissue a.k.a. a lipoma. But my fear is it’s basically the same measurements as a 2016 lymph node that they found on my CT and it’s actually cancer and nothings been done about it I’ll copy and paste my results here I guess my question is do you think you could be wrong on ultrasound and the lymph node is hiding under the fat or lipoma or is that stupid and irrational of me?
By the way the doctor that ordered the ultrasound is an oncologist hematologist my doctor finally got tired of me whining and sent me to him and he assured me it’s not lymphoma but you know how our minds think

FINDINGS:
There is no evidence of lymphadenopathy in the left neck.
A subcutaneous mass is visualized in the region of palpable concern measuring 1.6 x 0.5 x 1.9 cm. This demonstrates similar echogenicity to adjacent subcutaneous fat, without evidence of internal vascularity.
No suspicious soft tissue mass is visualized.

1. Low-grade lipomatous lesion measuring up to 1.9 cm, corresponding with the area of palpable concern.
2. No evidence of lymphadenopathy or suspicious soft tissue mass.

Lymph Nodes: Left jugulodigastric node is minimally enlarged measuring 18 x 11 mm transversely with a vertical height of 15 mm. Other nodes are clearly normal in size.
Soft Tissue Mass / Abscess: None present.
Other Incidental Findings: None of significance.

1. Slightly enlarged left jugulodigastric lymph node is present which is a nonspecific finding, most likely reactive. Other lymph nodes are clearly normal in size.
2. No abnormal soft tissue mass is evident. There are no findings to suggest mucosal head and neck malignancy.
