    Bloody mucus anxiety checking stool

    Hi ,
I've never posted on any forum but having used this site for many years I'm hoping I can get some help this time. I'm currently have a bad time.

I'm 50 year old male and have suffered with extreme health anxiety for many many years on and off.

My anxiety is cancer , constantly worried about it and checking my body in particularly my stools.

Friday I flipped out as when I checked my stool on tissue a very small bit of mucus came off which had some bright red / pink blood in. I'm talking a few millimetres.

I do have piles and for a week or so I've had very dry hard poo & more mucus.

Does this sound like a hemorrhoid problem ?

The mucus I've seen on and off for many years , it's been yellow, white , brown, orange or slightly red ( though it's not red when on tissue). Mucus in itself I'm ok with now as I have had IBS for 25 plus years.

I'm getting therapy but due to covid they're closed and I'm on citalopram.

I'm absolutely sick of this evil thing it's so damn destructive.

    Any help appreciated

    Thanks

    Sounds perfectly plausible

I was on here 3-4 years back worrying over bowel cancer.

I deal on and off with IBS and I'd say I have some sort of constipation about 90% of the time (whether I don't go for days or its hard pellets etc)

Theres been a few times when I've refused to leave that bathroom without passing something regardless of how much aggro it would give me. I've defo got some sort of haemorrhoid/tear down there. The first time I noticed it was a sharp stinging pain and having nothing but bright red blood when wiping. That had me at a doctors having a rather embarrassing examination but apart from that nothing much of note. I had that on and off a few times, I had some other issues which had me at a specialist and having a colonoscopy (it wasn't for the blood but for the constant discomfort further up I was having) I got the all clear from that and got on with my life for a while but occasionally I've noticed some very questionable things on the paper or in the bowl - usually accompanied with the sharp pain.

I still manage to re-open the tear sometimes, I wiped the other day and it was all bright red. I don't let it bother me anymore, I've been down that rabbit hole though, having your head in the bowl trying to see if theres any red streaks on the stool!

Thanks for the message. I gave up Alcohol about 2 weeks ago which I think explains constipation.
It's Def a rabbit hole and it's extremely difficult to control.
Problem is , if you inspect stool really close I think alot will freak you out.

But the desire for clarity and the ok makes you do it.

    I'm still stuck ...
