A thought is harmless unless we believe it.
I'm with the others on this Nora. As a somewhat sporadic poster we don't know each other that well, but these posts are deeply touching on multiple levels. Bravo!!

I seriously think you should consider writing a book about your life experiences, Nora and how life could be improved for those of us with more complex and enduring issues? No amount of degrees or letters after your name can equal life experience and excellent insight and appreciation of what it's actually like to battle the "system" when the "system" falls short.
I hope you enjoyed your soup and Derry girls combo and enjoy that well-earned fuzzyfest!![]()
Gosh yes - I honestly find your writing inspirational - truly. I feel like I've had an injection of 'personal development'![]()
You could be a specialist life coach..for those who need a bit more help, guidance and confidence to just "be" and to be able to live their lives without judgement or comparison with others.
Totally agree with the other posts Nora, you've hit the nail on the head in the most eloquent of ways.
@fishman, Catkins & Carys thank you.
Pulisa, this isn't the first time someone has mentioned about me writing a book. Who knows?
You're absolutely right. No amount of research or knowledge can equal the understanding which comes with personal experience and that's what I looked for when I had my breakdown. At that time, I knew I was autistic so I was also reading autistic MH literature too, and that's important because the neurotypical therapy approach can be ineffective with autistics. It certainly didn't work with me first time. But the second time I got a therapist who had not only had personal experience with MH issues but was also receptive to making adaptions in order to meet my personal needs and learning style. I'm a visual learner and I struggle with verbal instruction so he typed everything up, made diagrams, and put it all onto laminated sheets for me. Top dude.
Re Derry Girls. It wasn't the ending I was expecting.. Superb acting but triggering for me. I've left the hour long 'encore' for today.. I think I am going to miss 'Sister Michael' most of all. She's hilarious and should have her own show!![]()

I think a lot of people are disappointed when they first hook up with a therapist because the first two or three sessions they want to get a bit of history on you and it can leave you feeling with the 'now is the problem' and help me with coping with my daily life. Also digging up past trauma can make you feel worse than before going. But if you connect with a good therapist who completely understands you from a personal level then it can be very beneficial. It's so common to hear people say "I'm not going back" after only two sessions.
Definitely a book in you waiting to come out nora. I'm sure there is for a lot of us but nora has a way with words that touches the spot and makes you feel, as you say, fuzzy at the same time.
I'd like to see a drama series on TV about someone living with anxiety and depression on a daily basis because in my opinion the stuff we've seen so far doesn't even cover the minor things we are challenged with.
