Nooo. That means an hour less of CEEFAX music and Bamboozle.

Good god, CEEFAX music is a real blast from my childhood past!!
That was back in the days when downtime on both BBC 1 and BBC 2 was more commonplace, even during the day.
Ditto for original ITV and (possibly) early Channel 4.
Pretty much unthinkable now in this age of 24/7 multichannel TV!!
Then again, I think less was often more in TV world back in the pre-90s era.
CEEFAX was like the early WWW. A distribution platform across the air waves. A really genius idea that was later replaced for BBC's "red button" during the early days of the digital TV era. The music was generally classed as "elevator music", I found the modern Jazz that would play on ITV and C4 was awesome.
I think ITV and C4 started putting up job adverts on there. A really cool idea that could still work today.

CEEFAX has been replaced by Tommy Walshe's "Paint Pad Pro" that repeats constantly until you wake up.
