I’m not a doctor but I’m sure there a lot of things that can cause a lump like you have, most of them harmless. I don’t care what anyone says you shouldn’t be left to agonise for weeks over it being cancer. You need to be able to counteract that type of thinking with other scenarios. For example, “ well it could just be a harmless cyst or a normal part of my anatomy like my doctor said”. You deserve that.
Thank you for your replies than are making me feel a bit calmer. I definitely cannot go two weeks and then the wait for results feeling like this, this is day 3 of worrying so far I have eaten properly or slept and collapsed in a shop. I can't do this. My only thought it is cancer.

This is all too much. I've made my neck really red by rubbing and poking it etc. My dad made me some lunch and I was sick. I've been on the phone crying to a mental health charity but there isn't much they can do only put me forward for counselling.

No they don't know that it is something bad. They also don't know about being seriously worried. Why does it have to be something bad? And if you actually did have something serious like cancer what would you do then !?

She felt it and within a week I'm getting tests, she must be very concerned if its happened this quickly? And if it was the worse case scenario I don't know what I'd do.

Okay but that does not mean something is seriously wrong. My dad has the big C....in which he had to be seen by head and neck specialist.

I'm. Sorry to hear about your dad. How is he doing?

All my family say the same as you that it doesn't mean its anything serious, I just can't seem to accept it.

I'm trying to remain calm, yes I know I shouldn't do this but I did a Google search to see what else it could other than anything serious.

I cam across something called a thyroglossal duct cyst, the photos look exactly like mine, they are mainly present in children but most don't go detected til adulthood, if it's this type of cyst the lump moves up and down when swallowing and also when sticking the tounge out which mine does and the nurse even got me to do both of them so I'm hoping this is what she thought it was. I was up last night til about 4am, looking in the mirror examining it with photos and videos online and it looks very similar the way it moves etc.

Has anyone had or know anyone who has a cyst like this?

Sorry for keep posting on here but I am really spiralling, I have only slept about 6 7 hours in a few days and can't eat and nobody is around for me to talk to.

Why are you googling !? So not only are you doing that, you are examining yourself. You have no idea what you are looking for.
