The Spaghetti Westerns. I'm not a huge fan of regular westerns, maybe the odd one here and there. But the spaghettis were different, never taking themselves too seriously and with a brilliant dry wit. There are whole scenes that I can recite almost word for word. Clint Eastwood at his very best, the squint eyed Lee Van Cleef and not forgetting the brilliant Gian Maria Volonte as Ramone and Indio.

Classic stuff F65! Thanks for posting. For some reason those spaghetti westerns remind me of the old Hammer films. I won't say I'm a big fan of the western genre but there are a few I really like.

This scene with Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman from Unforgiven I thought was great.

If you want to see a realistic film about the west see "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" with Brad Pitt. Pitt's depiction of James suffering from mental illness I thought was excellent.
