    Pain after going

Lately I’ve been constipated and I’ve been in a pattern where I can’t go for 3-4 days, then suddenly I have an urgent bm and everything comes out. After, I’m so sore on my left side for a day or two it feels like I’m bruised inside. Cramps and gas too. I’m worried there is something damaged inside of me. I thought pain was supposed to go away after going in ibs, so why do I have so much pain after I finally have a bm. I see blood sometimes too just a little but still makes me nervous.

Any time you see blood you should get checked BUT it is extremely likely to be from piles.

IBS is a beggar. Sometimes it hurts more when you think you've dealt with the pain! But never mess about, see a doctor.

Yes, might be time to see the GI again just in case but I really don’t like going…I agree ibs is tricky though.

my latest complaint is a feeling of knots all over my abdomen that lasts for days. I’ve tried walking, yoga, self massage, tea, nothing seems to help it. Sigh.

I have pain after a BM sometimes. IBS affects people differently.

I had blood for the first time earlier this year. I have piles but mine don't bleed. However, this particular day I'd had a tricky poo and what felt like a small cut - so most likely a fissure. The blood was bright red, on the bog roll and a bit on the poo - so I wasn't overly concerned. I was actually chuffed how my mind handled the situation! The bleeding hasn't happened since but I did run it past my useless GP who told me to mention it to the gastro specialist when my appointment comes through - which at this rate will be in about 2030. On the other hand, Hubs bleeds a lot. The loo looks like Freddie Kruger's been on there after he's been in. He's had all the tests, and he's fine..

Re the constipation... my IBS is predominantly constipation and with having to take codeine now and then, I have to get creative because I hate taking prescription laxatives, so I've found that taking a tablespoon of olive oil, a kiwi fruit, and a drink of magnesium a day does the trick..

I've only had codeine twice, after surgery. I don't go to the loo for about 3 weeks!

Good job not wigging out guess I need to work on that.

I take magnesium but it doesn’t seem to help some days, maybe need to increase the dose.
