I know how crap it is to have to avoid those treats. It's chocolate for me. We can have them, but it comes at a price...

Chocolate seems fine with me. I've never felt more or less anxious about having it.

I'm ok with 1 piece of dark chocolate early afternoon - too late in the day and it interferes with my sleep.

Bournville is my kryptonite. I don't have problems with all dark chocolate, but more than a square or two of Bournville and I have palpitations for hours. Note to non-UK people, Bournville is a particularly sweet type of dark chocolate made by Cadbury. It's lovely (in a low-rent sort of way) but it's SO not good for me.

Both coke and Pepsi do a diet caffeine free variety. I prefer the Pepsi version and will on occasion have one. But I can't drink if from the can I have to pour it out to get rid of some of the fizz.

At the moment I'm not having any caffeine - too risky. Fortunately I'm OK with chocolate.

There us as much caffeine in diet or zero Coke as the full fat stuff - but in terms of the sugar content anything other than full-fat is full of saccharine which is a chemical substitute and to be avoided. Tastes revolting as well.

I just drink the full fat brand but limit intake

Personally, I just drink flavored carbonated water nowadays. It took a while to get used to the bitter flavor, but now I prefer it to soda. Most sodas are much too sweet for me now. If I do drink soda, it's only a few sips.

It's not OK with me, partly because I can't stop at a couple of pieces. Within a short time of eating chocolate, my heart starts racing. Of course, there are a few other stimulants in chocolate other than caffeine so it's ever likely that it causes palps etc..

I was wrong about Zero - it's Diet Coke which has the most caffeine in it (42 mgs) as opposed to normal Coke and Zero which have 32 mgs - and that's off the Coco-Cola GB website.

I think that's likely. I'm fine with most chocolate, even with more than a couple of bits, but there's something about very sweet dark chocolate that makes me feel absolutely wretched. Doesn't stop me eating it, just means I regret eating it.
