Back in 2012 I discovered a lump at the back of my throat, was a weird nodule type thing. Went to see two different Drs who both said it was an infection and gave me anti biotics. Both drs were wrong and it wasn't going away, at that point I was so adamant it was throat cancer I was basically planning my funeral. Finally I got to see my regular Dr, who actually took the time to listen to me and had a proper look. Within seconds of seeing it he said "I have no idea how they thought that is an infection, it's the most obvious cyst I've ever seen." He told me it was a cyst, even bet his career on it haha. Well it has been 9 years now and the cyst is still there, not grown or caused any problems.

I know the throat may be an odd place to grow such lumps, but it does happen. Cancer is the last case scenario amongst 100s of other non harmful scenarios.
