2nd dose … let’s do this
In my region if we got AZ as our first dose, we have the choice of getting either AZ or an mRNA vaccine as a second dose. I talked to my counsellor about it, and I said I was going to go for the mRNA as my second dose. She agreed that was a good move. My resilience is really low right now, and even though logically I know the risk of VITT with AZ especially on the second dose is really rare, it would still eat at me. So, today my pharmacy contacted me to opt into the mRNA waiting list and I did. So at some point I’ll be getting a Moderna shot. As soon as July depending on supply.
I am really really really looking forward to being fully vaccinated. I’m also worrying, nervous, etc. etc. But I think I’m more tired of this stupid pandemic than worried about my next vaccine. Fingers crossed that gets me through.
