Could you practice using it while the shop is closed?
So they want me to work to 11pm at Xmas rather than 9pm this makes me a bit anxious as it's late and means eating late my worry is it's prob for at least 4 weeks? And expensive taxi costs
Jesus, you don't know how lucky you are.
For my last ten years in full employment I was expected to work random days, with random hours (any 12 hours within the 24), random nights with next to no recovery breaks, every weekend, and the only guaranteed day off was Christmas day. That meant late Tubes, sometimes taxis, sometimes my own car, all with no recompense.
Mealtimes were fitted around the workload.
If you don't like the job, find another.

The former shop I worked in are not doing late finishes however this new one is. 11pm every shift sure just 3 nights a week but it’s 3 consecutive nights meaning I get home at midnight. Management said they would maybe let me away at ten pm but no sign of that only more lates. Felt like quitting the job not sure what I can do? Seems moving was bad idea!
I am getting a new manager at work and it’s seemingly one I worked with before. I am a little bit worried as that manager was one of the reasons I moved shops before the last shop before I moved to the one which had the fire. He kept pushing me to do more as I had been with company a while and was in office for a while getting pulled up. I’m a little worried as it could mean I move shops again? Or perhaps he won’t be as bad this time? Anybody got any positive words?
Well I went to college years ago. I use to want to be manager years back but was rejected by the company and I had a breakdown in 2016 and realised it wasn’t worth chasing promotions. So yes I prefer doing same hours I prefer to expand my life in other ways I have a mortgage and prefer nice holidays so my career doesn’t matter as having more free time is more of a win than working 40 or 50 hours.
