Woken up by abdominal cramps

This morning I woke up to bad lower abdominal cramping and had to go sit on the toilet, and eventually had some loose fluffy stool. Since I'm in a hyper aware phase right now I'm freaking out over it being something sinister.

This is a very normal IBS symptom, right? Just looking for some similar stories. Thanks NMP.

Yes it does sound like a normal IBS symptom.

I've been waking up in the night with stomach ache before, although I'm not sure if the pain actually wakes me up or if I wake up because I feel anxious and then I start feeling the pain.

I'd say if it only happen on rare occations it's probably nothing to worry about.
